Training
Over the last few years Ecoworks has built a successful track record in training young people aged 16 to 19 through an E2E programme, long term unemployed adults through the Future Jobs Fund, as well as accredited and non-accredited Family Learning.
Ecoworks is now an approved City & Guilds Centre. We are currently able to offer Level 1 Practical Horticulture and hope to be approved to offer Level 2 in the spring. Ecoworks will contract with schools, learning centres and FE colleges and will negotiate a package which is right for the learners. We are able to deliver at our own Brewsters Road site or we can discuss delivery at a school site depending on available facilities. We are also registered with AIM Awards and are able to offer a number of Entry 3 or Level 1 OCN units in Gardening or Cooking. If you would like to discuss how to partner with us so that your own learners can access our qualifications and assessment please get in touch.
For more information and to discuss costs, qualifications and timetables please contact Alison on 0115 9622200.
We have also won a contract to deliver Family Learning. This will provide learning opportunities in growing and cooking for parents and children in some of the most disadvantaged communities in Nottingham. Courses will be 10 weeks long (3 hour sessions) and will lead to NOCN Entry 3 qualifications.
Our exciting and innovative course will include: “Undercover Agents” (growing and cooking fruit and vegetables under cover in polytunnel and greenhouse); “Hot Stuff” (growing vegetables you might find in Asian and West Indian cooking and using them in cooking); “Smooth Operators” (growing soft fruit and learning how to make smoothies); “Carbon Footprint, Muddy Footprints” ( growing vegetables in containers); and “Breads of the World” (using locally sourced ingredients to cook bread-based products from different cultures and countries).
We will be promoting these course in local communities after the summer holidays.
For more information contact Alison on 0115 9622200.
We hope to build on our range of organic horticulture training courses in the future. Join our mailing list to keep up-to-date with our activities.
