Group Training And Support

Are you a school or community group who would like on-site training for your pupils/service users?
Would you like to join a group of 5 – 10 people to learn and grow together in your local area?
Would you like to grow fruit and vegetables, but don’t have any space to grow them?

If you have answered yes to any of the above, Ecoworks can help.  As part of our recently funded ‘FRESH Communities’ project – we can offer tailored and dedicated training on your own garden.

If you are a school or community group – our experienced trainers and volunteers can work with you over two years, helping to design new fruit and vegetable gardens, plan for the growing season, and learn the skills you’ll need to achieve success with a whole range of fruits and vegetables.  We will work with you on your own site, helping to assess the growing conditions and suggest how you can work with them for growing success!

Join a growing team in your local area.  Ecoworks Growing Teams are groups of individuals living close together who can come together to help each other achieve growing success.  Ecoworks will provide regular training sessions in your locality (which could rotate around the gardens / allotments of team members) – helping you to help each other by sharing grow plans, rotating crops between gardens and sharing the harvest, sharing tools and resources, and helping each other to minimise work for maximum gain.  Let us know if you are a group interested in joining the scheme – or if you are an individual who would like to lead or join a team in your area.

Over the past year or so, we have been contacted by several people who are frustrated by a shortage of growing space in their area.  We are also working with other community organisations who would like to see more of the city’s green spaces made available for growing fruit and vegetables.  We aim to work together to match the need for growing space to new areas available for growing.   This idea is in its infancy, but if you would like to find out more, please contact Gina in the Ecoworks office.
