Ecoworks Growing Groups
Get together. Grow together.
All you need is some friends, and some space. Get growing this spring.

This spring Ecoworks is offering support to groups who want to start growing their own! As one of Nottingham’s leading not-for-profit environmental groups, Ecoworks has helped countless groups of enthusiastic friends and neighbours to start beautiful and productive gardens together. We offer a tailor made mentoring programme to each of our growing groups, guaranteed to take you from planning your garden in the fresh days of spring, right through to collecting bountiful harvests throughout the seasons.
We provide the gardening expertise every step of the way. With a little bit of enthusiasm and some old fashioned hard work, you can be enjoying the fruits of your garden sooner than you think.
Applications to become a 2011 Ecoworks Growing Group are now open. Apply Now!
All applications must be received before the deadline at midnight on the 15th February.
Update 15th Feb- Deadline extended until 20th February
Before you apply, make sure that you can answer “yes” to the following questions:
- Do you have an active and enthusiastic group of 5 or more? If you do, great, but we recognise that this isn’t easy for everyone. Previous groups have been made of friends, colleagues, community groups and neighbours, or even strangers who got to know each other through the project. If you’re struggling to
get your group together, remember: enthusiasm is infectious. It only takes one person to say “let’s do it!” and you’ll be amazed how many people will join you. - Do you have a space that you are able to use for community growing?Previous groups have used all manner of spaces- from people’s gardens to community centres, from churches to universities and even unused pieces of land in your neighbourhood. Remember, no space is completely unsuitable for growing, but you must have permission from whoever owns the land to take part. If it’s a space in your neighbourhood and you don’t know who owns it, get in touch with your local councillor
If you have any questions about the process of becoming an Ecoworks Growing Group, please feel free to contact us. Now, the deadline is near and we can only work with a limited number of groups- get your skates on!
